Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Guiding the development of design ideas in a project from basic product/communication concepts to fully worked out design solutions.

You are responsible for

  • Translating interaction concepts into visual designs for various screen based platforms (e.g. web sites, mobile devices, touch screen panels, etc.)
  • You use appropriate and effective visual design skills to articulate simplicity across products and though interaction & interface, supporting business needs and increasing user satisfaction.
  • Create effective and appropriate visual languages by understanding the meaning and effect of these on the brand, audience, market and culture. 
  • Creating, specifying and applying harmonized visual styles that can be used across multiple applications and target users
  • Being a sparring partner for the Interaction Designer, Art Director and part of multi-disciplinary teams (which may also include marketing, developers, engineers, usability experts, application experts)
  • Understanding and working with technical constraints of different platforms to get the most out of them
  • You use appropriate and effective communicating & influencing skills to build relationships with teams and key decision makers and achieve the best solutions.

  • Communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at an individual and group level – to direct team members and suppliers and choose the right communication style or influencing tools.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Someone who has been working as a Visual Designer for at least 3 years
  • Exceptional design talent with strong attention for detail
  • You can do magic with leading design software like Sketch and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of how digital standards such as HTML5, CSS, and mobile platforms impact design
  • Good understanding of Interaction Design and User Experience Design
  • The internet, new media and all things digital are your passion
  • You enjoy staying up to date on the latest trends and developments
  • You have your own opinion, inspire others and are always open to suggestion of others
  • You have bachelor or master level education in Graphical Design, Arts, or other related studies
  • Good verbal and written skills in Chinese
  • Good verbal and written skills in English
