The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As Total Rewards Leader for Japan, you will be responsible to plan, organize and direct activities and policies under Total Rewards Center of Expertise for Japan. It is crucial for this position to develop and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders (HR colleagues, Business leaders & employees) to become a reliable partner. In that role, you will:

  • Be responsible to plan, organize and direct activities and policies under Total Rewards Center of Expertise for All 3M legal entities in Japan, including supply chain entities. 
  • Responsible for the administration of the 3M Compensation and Benefits package and ensure goal of pay equity for these geographies.
  • Support processes to ensure benefits and compensation market competitiveness, such as annual compensation planning budget, benefits management, governance review and market pricing
  • Overisght and management of Japan specific benefit plans - 3M HIA, Pension plans , Mutual Aid Association (BPlaza)
  • Execute corporate strategies and deploy Area/global projects under Total Rewards for the countries as required
  • Responsible for execution of global 3M mobility policies and processes in Japan.
  • Responsible for implementation of global M&A actions
  • Ensures compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Manage local vendors ensuring the attainment of services levels required for the operations
  • Strive for continuous optimization of compensation and benefits administration and employee experience improvement
  • Partner with local human resources managers and business clients to understand employees and business needs.
  • What we are looking for

  • University education/Master´s desired
  • At least 15 + years of experience in compensations and benefits positions with proven record of accomplishment, with some experience in MNCs
  • Knowledge of employment law, compensation & benefits policies and practices in Japan.
  • Experience in Compensation planning and Market pricing in specialist organizations.
  • Experience in managing M&A , divestiture projects.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills
  • Effective communication and Client-focused mindset
  • Proficiency using contemporary communication tools and computer skills
  • Fluent in English
