Responsibilities
The Client Relations Operations department is responsible for maintaining and improving operations within Client Relations to ensure efficiency, scale and operational discipline. The team is responsible for (i) management reporting, budgeting and analytics, (ii) offshore operations, (iii) collateral operations, (iv) administrative support and (v) technology and process improvements.
The candidate will be expected to develop internal subject matter expertise regarding Oaktree’s products, marketing and development areas, as well as the firm’s technology and data initiatives to facilitate ideation and execution of efforts to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Client Relations. Selected responsibilities of the role include:
Strategic Initiatives / Project Management
- Contribute to the identification and delivery of strategic initiatives across Client Relations
- Project-manage select cross-department improvement projects driving the end-to-end effort to operationalize initiatives
- Gather, document, analyze and draw conclusions regarding complex data and information to support operational decisions
- Develop a level of subject matter expertise around the procedure, process or technology within the scope of initiative responsibilities
- Establish and manage trusting relationships with stakeholders across departments
Technology Infrastructure Management
- Support innovative automation efforts for Oaktree’s marketing collateral, client and internal reporting, portfolio analytics, and data visualization needs (e.g., Power BI dashboards, fund factsheets, marketing brochures, etc.)
- Serve as product manager for select new and existing technology tools and systems, liaising with IT, Accounting and Analytic teams to provide direction on CR’s IT development priorities and to ensure requirements are met
- Assist with new IT tool implementation and team education/training
Business Operations Support
- Analyze the department’s workflow and output relative to departmental goals and strategic priorities to ensure the team’s bandwidth is dedicated to high-value efforts aligned with senior management’s priorities
- Assist with analyzing and reporting of key operating metrics and management reporting for the department
- Support budgeting, financial forecasting and sub-department-level spend management activities
- Enhance documentation of business processes and procedures and content/collateral management routines
- Provide support of the department’s offshore operations
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience, preferably in “Big 4” type organizations (or comparable) in consulting or advisory; institutional asset management industry experience a plus;
- Proven track record in business analysis and process improvement;
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;
- Strong project management capabilities, including in the development of detailed project plans, coordination with stakeholders across various levels, and ability to communicate at different levels (detailed vs. summary);
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working collaboratively as part of a team;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, including professionals within Client Relations, Compliance, Marketing, Investment teams, Finance and IT;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Motivation to acquire thorough knowledge of Oaktree’s strategies, product launch and fundraising goals, and the firm’s IT strategy and Data Transformation efforts;
- Familiarity with business operations/strategy, IT, offshore operations, and project management functions of large organizations a plus.

Education
Bachelor’s degree (major in Finance, Business, IT, or related field preferred).
Base Salary Range
Los Angeles: $100,000 - $135,000
Dallas: $95,000 - $125,000
