Summary:
Coordinates and dispatches drivers for the safe and timely conveyance of freight by assigning equipment, managing schedules, maintaining accurate records, and serving as the primary communication link between drivers and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiles and maintains a list of available drivers.
Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight requirements.
Issues record sheets and all related paperwork to drivers.
Troubleshoots issues and notifies appropriate parties of any changes or delays.
Records time of departure, destination, cargo details, and expected time of return.
Investigates overdue vehicles and follows up accordingly.
Directs activities of drivers via two-way radio and other communication systems.
Maintains heavy daily communication with drivers to ensure operational efficiency.
Contacts customers to provide delivery updates, communicate changes, and ensure a high level of customer service.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications and proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Pay Range:
$22.00 - $23.50
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
