We combine a "small company" culture where your ideas will be heard with "big company" expertise to help you succeed. With over 30 specialty and property and casualty operations, there are always opportunities here to learn and grow.
At Great American, we value and recognize the benefits derived when people with different backgrounds and experiences work together to achieve business results. Our goal is to create a workplace where all employees feel included, empowered, and enabled to perform at their best.
The Specialty Claims Internship program includes a combination of activities aimed at providing the intern a full understanding of the Claims department and how it interacts with other functions within the organization. We are hiring four interns that will work in one of the following areas: Reinsurance, Operations, or the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
Responsibilities:
Within the Corporate Claims division, interns will work on meaningful assignments and gain exposure to a variety of claims functions, including claims handling, analysis, investigation, and negotiation. To gain a broader perspective of the business, interns will have the opportunity to meet with individuals who work in the other various functions within the group. Responsibilities will include:

In addition to the on-the-job learning that takes place, interns also attend lunch-and-learns to further develop their business knowledge.
