Overview of Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to join Newport on the Levee’s marketing department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies through the Levee’s events and social media plans.

As a Marketing Coordinator, you will support Newport on the Levee’s Marketing Manager in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing program. This role reports to Newport on the Levee’s Marketing Manager.  The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, is adaptable and organized, and has strong prioritization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in coordinating Newport on the Levee’s Events with support from Marketing Managers – included but not limited to logistics meetings, event notifications, on-site presence, event recaps, etc.
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media)
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Newport on the Levee Marketing Team and provide meeting agendas and meeting minutes for all parties involved
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with Levee tenants and work with them to help promote their individual events. This includes conducting monthly soundbites with tenants and checking in with them regularly.
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors for events and pop-ups. This includes managing event contracts, certificates of insurance, and ensuring invoices are paid promptly.
  • Assist Engineering, Housekeeping, Security and all other property operations teams expectations for event logistics and inventory of equipment
  • Focus on improving existing programs and processes while assisting in the creation of new and varied programs that offer a fresh and inviting guest experience
  • Engage in community outreach to share what the Levee has to offer (e.g. hotels, BB Riverboats, apartment/condo communities)
  • Manage LED programming and building lighting schedule and work with appropriate departments to ensure execution.

Qualifications

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with all major social media channels
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Willingness to learn on the job and share experiences with other members of the team
  • Must be able to assist with Manager On Duty shifts on various weekends at Newport on the Levee
  • Excellent organizational skills and key attention to detail
  • Previous experience in event coordination is beneficial

Weekly Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday from 12pm – 8pm. Schedule is subject to change due to events.  Event uniforms will be provided and required to be worn.

Majority of work time will be spent in an office environment, however, set up and during events, candidate should be able to meet the following physical requirements:

  • Bending up to 4 hours a day
  • Working outdoors up to 8 hours a day
