A Brief Overview
Responsible for planning, implementing, directing, controlling activities, operations, policies, procedures, and processes in the MH Revenue Integrity Department. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do
  • Plans, organizes, develops and implements revenue integrity operations to meet Corporate and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintains thorough and up to date knowledge of industry charging policies and processes.
  • Designs and implements education and training programs to ensure that hospital and revenue cycle staff are adequately trained on charge compliance and reconciliation policies and procedures.
  • Manages the internal and external audit requirements as set forth by the healthcare industry, MLH and government agencies.
  • Maintains a committed working relationship with MLH hospital departments to ensure the timely correction of charging and billing edits.
  • Assists the Director in managing annual expenses, planning for budget and investigating cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintains and develops a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce by hiring, evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of department personnel according to the MH value.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - Associates Degree Nursing
  • Preferred - Associates Degree Allied Health
  • Preferred - Associates Degree Cardiovascular Technology
  • Preferred - Associates Degree Radiologic Technology

Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - Revenue integrity 5-7 years
  • Preferred - Lead, Supervisory, or Management

Licenses and Certifications Requirements
  • Preferred - Certified Cardiographic Technician - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Preferred - Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
  • Preferred - Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
  • Preferred - Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Preferred - Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of revenue integrity processes, charge capture, billing and hospital inpatient and outpatient coding.
  • Possesses competency with personal computers and working knowledge of Microsoft office and mainframe programs.
  • Ability to understand and prepare written materials, such as management reports and memos.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates, senior management officials, and other outside professionals, and demonstrate strong quantitative problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow.
  • Ability to work without close supervision or guidance and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to facilitate education/training sessions at all levels of the organization.

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • Manages staff in the department.

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
