Software Engineer

The Role

Fidelity Charitable software engineers develop next-generation technology that directly impacts how our customers accomplish their philanthropic goals. As a Software Engineer within our technology business unit, you will help take Fidelity Charitable applications to the next level of evolution. The position will require hands-on software development, cross team collaboration with a diverse and co-located engineering team, and the ability to visualize customer issues as drivers for internal change. 

• As a member of the team you’ll craft and influence creative solutions that meet not only functional, but also performance, scalability and reliability requirements. 

• Can conceptualize Object Oriented design and engineering design patterns 

• Hands on experience with building RESTful Web Services/APIs 

• Work as a member of a high functioning Agile team to help drive the next generation user experience for Fidelity Donors, Reps, and Advisors

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent 

• Experience in SCRUM, SAFe, or other agile development processes 

• Love of programming and rock-solid in Java, Spring Boot and other Open Source stack technologies

• Familiarity or experience in front-end frameworks and web technologies including Angular, HTML/CSS, JavaScript or Typescript and web components

• Understanding the importance of SDLC standard methodologies 

• Comprehension of version control system management using various Git workflows

• Passion for continuous integration and continuous delivery 

• Your ability to work on an innovative application through all phases of software development including design, implementation, and deployment 

• Your proven collaboration skills with the ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers to produce high-quality, timely work 

• You produce clean, secure, unit-tested, and refactored code 

• Perform code reviews within the team 

• Strive to raise everyone's game, including your own
