Owns/influences budgets and operating plans. The role is guided by operating policy. Works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or Family within a Function or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.
Job Description
This Senior Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction to a diverse technical team, overseeing the coordinated efforts of the BWRX-300 design team. Lead managers and teams responsible for the BWRX-300 design, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project milestones. This Senior Manager will collaborate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners, including global teams, suppliers, and partner organizations, to ensure the successful delivery of BWRX-300 design projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Report to the Engineering General Manager of BWRX-300 Project Delivery.
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for multiple engineering first line managers & their respective teams.
- Inspire, hire, coach and ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders.
- Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC or other applicable country specific regulatory agency, as required on technical issues.
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Provide the oversight and be responsible to plan, organize and manage the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables.
- Drive the design & development & maintenance of required systems in accordance the program/project software requirements.
- Provide guidance for use of systems specifications as required by other GEH technical disciplines and project design partners.
- Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH.
- Support GVH initiatives, process improvement, simplification, and design to cost.
- Support GVH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating, and responding to Corrective Actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership.

- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.
- Experience creating an environment that supports individual creativity and group innovation.
- Experience leading diverse teams.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $150,900.00 and $289,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
