Job Summary:

Under general direction, this position oversees and prioritizes all aspects of a rail location's day to day planning and organizing to ensure organizational needs are met. The incumbent will perform, maintain, and report to leadership on rail ramp audits, inventory counts, equipment checks, and budget management. The position will perform multiple personnel management tasks for a small team including but not limited to staffing, performance management, annual reviews, and time and attendance. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.   

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: • Ensure work shifts begin on schedule and assign work to technicians to maintain an orderly and efficient workflow that meets internal customer deadlines • Other duties as assigned • Perform multiple personnel management tasks including but not limited to staffing, performance management, annual reviews, and time and attendance • Maintain the company's safety culture by promoting a safe work environment in compliance with federal and state regulations • Coordinate with corporate support teams and outside vendors to ensure proper repairs are completed and costs are controlled • Monitor work in progress of employees to ensure it is performed safely, correctly, and meets standard repair times; review and close repair orders; perform quality inspections on completed work • Conduct daily cycle counts and periodic inventories as required • Regularly audit all assigned facilities for compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, federal, and/or company regulations to ensure all required safety and OSHA programs are in place and personnel training is current; report findings to rail yard management utilizing internal systems

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2-3 of related experience and 1-2 years of direct or indirect management experience
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per J.B. Hunt standards.

Proficient time management skills
May travel up to 50%

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
