The Senior Director, Enterprise Program Management is a senior enterprise leader responsible for establishing the governance, operating models, and execution discipline required to deliver the company’s most critical and complex transformation initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise PMO, this role designs and embeds the enterprise execution framework that translates strategy into outcomes. The position focuses on how large, cross-functional initiatives are structured, governed, and managed, and how executive leaders gain confidence through transparency, rigor, and consistent execution.

While the Enterprise PMO owns program delivery capacity and talent, this role is accountable for enterprise-level execution architecture. This includes governance models, portfolio mechanisms, operating cadence, and execution standards that enable large initiatives to move from strategy to measurable results across a global, highly regulated organization. As needed, the role may directly lead high-impact enterprise programs and, over time, build or oversee senior program leadership capacity.

This position operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, partnering closely with executive leadership and senior functional leaders to orchestrate delivery, surface tradeoffs, and strengthen enterprise execution maturity.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Program Leadership
• Translate corporate and enterprise strategy into structured, end-to-end enterprise programs with clear scope, milestones, ownership, dependencies, and success measures.
• Coordinate delivery across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, IT, Commercial, Finance, and HR by aligning decision paths, incentives, and interdependencies without direct authority.
• Lead execution of select, highest-priority enterprise initiatives, ensuring clear accountability, integrated planning, and measurable outcomes.
• Anticipate, surface, and resolve complex cross-functional risks, dependencies, and execution bottlenecks that could impact enterprise outcomes.

Enterprise Execution Operating Model
• Design, implement, and continuously evolve the enterprise program management operating model, including governance structures, decision forums, execution standards, and program frameworks.
• Define clear decision rights, escalation paths, and accountability models to support consistent execution at scale.
• Establish enterprise-wide standards for how initiatives are defined, prioritized, planned, governed, and tracked, independent of delivery methodology.
• Develop scalable playbooks, templates, and toolkits that enable consistent execution across portfolios, functions, and regions.
• Institutionalize core enterprise program artifacts such as program charters, milestone frameworks, ownership models, risk and dependency tracking, and executive dashboards.

Governance and Executive Decision Support
• Own enterprise governance for strategic initiatives, including portfolio reviews, steering committees, and executive progress forums.
• Deliver concise, decision-ready executive reporting that provides visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and required actions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by synthesizing complex and ambiguous information into clear insights and recommendations.

Portfolio Management and Strategic Prioritization
• Maintain an enterprise-wide view of strategic initiatives to ensure focus on the highest-impact priorities.
• Partner with executive leadership to align strategy, sequencing, capacity, and investment, and to clearly articulate execution implications and tradeoffs.
• Identify portfolio-level risks and systemic constraints, and recommend course corrections to improve delivery confidence and outcomes.

Organizational Capability Building
• Establish and reinforce enterprise standards for program governance, risk management, and execution discipline.
• Coach senior program leaders and cross-functional partners on enterprise execution expectations and best practices.
• Advance enterprise execution maturity without direct ownership of PMO staffing, resourcing, or performance management.

Change and Adoption Leadership
• Drive adoption of enterprise execution standards across functions and regions.
• Partner closely with the Vice President, Enterprise PMO and functional leaders to embed execution discipline into core operating rhythms.
• Reinforce a culture of transparency, accountability, and follow-through across large-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience
• 15 or more years of experience in enterprise program management, strategy execution, enterprise transformation, or senior business operations leadership.
• Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional initiatives in complex, global organizations.
• Significant experience in medical devices, health technology, digital health, diagnostics, or similarly regulated industries strongly preferred.
• Proven track record building and scaling enterprise execution capabilities, governance models, or operating frameworks.
• Experience operating at the executive interface and supporting senior decision-making for complex initiatives.

Leadership Capabilities
• Ability to drive alignment and outcomes across diverse stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong executive presence with clear, concise, and persuasive communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with a strong bias toward operational rigor and disciplined execution.
• Sound judgment, problem-solving capability, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
• Ability to balance speed, quality, compliance, and capacity in a regulated environment.

Leadership Profile
• A builder of enterprise systems, frameworks, and execution capabilities.
• Comfortable shaping operating models through influence rather than authority.
• Able to partner closely with the Vice President, Enterprise PMO while operating with autonomy at the enterprise level.
• Skilled at navigating complexity, ambiguity, and matrixed organizations.
• Driven to create clarity, momentum, and accountability across large-scale initiatives.

Additional Scope (as applicable)
• Lead enterprise AOP planning and coordinate annual OGSM processes, ensuring alignment and consistency across enterprise and functional goals.

Physical Requirements

  • National and International travel as required (anticipated at ~20%)
