How you will make an impact

The Business Manager for international General Insurance (GI) Claims reports to the Chief Claims Operating Officer (CCO) for International Claims. The accountabilities for the role include ensuring that tactical and strategic GI claims deliverables are defined, monitored and executed across the International Claims organization as well as providing executive-level support to the CCO for International. 

This position will work closely with the Claims Business Manager for Global Claims, the International Claims Leadership Team (ICLT) as well as stakeholders in claims and the international business to ensure alignment to GI’s overall objectives are being executed and communicated internally and externally.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Support the strategic direction of GI Claims globally through alignment with the Claims Business Manager for GI Claims, ICLT and International leadership team
  • Support CCO for International Claims in designing, developing and maintaining an effective cadence within International Claims to oversee Claims Performance and provide high quality reporting to all key stakeholders!
  • Partner with Claims Finance and Claims Leadership on budget planning and forecasting and resource management in alignment with the Claims objectives.
  • Work closely with CCO for International Claims, Claims Business Manager for Global Claims, Claims Operations, HR and General Insurance Claims leadership to identify, analyze, and develop strategies to improve organizational health as indicated by survey results, observation, and other means. 
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure alignment within the Claims organization as well as with business and functional units across GI
  • Work closely with ICLT members, HR and other stakeholders to ensure our Talent strategy is clearly defined and progressed

What you'll need to succeed

  • Sound insurance knowledge, including some experience of working in a claims environment together with financial & analytical competency
  • Exceptional communication skills, including ability to create compelling story tailored for multiple constituents and develop and present clear and concise analysis and recommendations to senior management
  • Able to work as a trusted member of the International Claims Leadership team and role model the behaviours on collaboration, engagement, and effective execution.
  • Represent and be credible in presenting to senior GI leadership and other stakeholders on behalf of the ICLT when required.
  • Anticipate, prioritize, and interpret situations that may impede on the business objectives and recommend actions to address including escalation where necessary.
  • Research, compile, analyze and summarize data for special projects and/or reports to a high standard within agreed upon timelines.
