The opportunity:

AIA are currently sourcing a Head of Technology Delivery Capabilities to lead, develop and continuously improve the organisation's technology delivery competencies, frameworks, methodologies, and practices.  

This strategic role ensures the capabilities for the effective and efficient delivery of technology solutions, aligning delivery practices with business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence across all technology teams. 

To evolve the technology capabilities and ensure the right capacity, this role will develop (strategic) partnership with external parties to delivery against the requirements of the wider enterprise. 

This position will be responsible to introduce and uplift the technology delivery using SDLC GEN AI capabilities and best practices. 

To do this successfully you will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain best-in-class technology delivery practices, frameworks, and methodologies to support the delivery of business demand and transformation. 

  • Lead and coach delivery teams in adopting SDLC methodologies (agile, DevOps, and other modern delivery approaches) to maximise productivity and quality. 

  • Establish governance, standards, and metrics for technology delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements. 

  • Collaborate with senior leaders, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology delivery, capacity and strategic business objectives. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and feedback to optimise processes and outcomes.

  • Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across technology teams. 

  • Oversee the professional development of delivery practitioners, including training, mentoring, and performance management. 

  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, adapting delivery practices to maintain competitive advantage. 

  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and consultants involved in technology delivery and the introduction of best practices. 

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Experience in either Financial Services, Banking or Life Insurance industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related discipline and relevant tertiary qualification in Business or Project Management 
  • Commercial experience of working in Digital/Software/IT projects or Technology services preferably in Insurance or Financial Services industry 
  • Proven leadership experience in technology delivery, with a strong track record of implementing and evolving delivery practices at scale. 
  • Deep understanding of agile, DevOps, and other technology delivery methodologies. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. 
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and continuous improvement. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and standards. 
  • Excellent people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and fostering team culture. 
  • Certifications in SDLC delivery methodologies (e.g. Lean Portfolio Management Agile Certification) preferred
