Certified CS SPD Technician

Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical tools and hospital equipment. It is your job to make sure that the sterilized tools are then organized into trays containing the instruments required for routine or special surgeries. You are also responsible for checking equipment to make sure it is in good repair and up to date.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform case pull functions.
Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.
Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.
Dispatch case carts to ensure they are available for surgical/clinical procedures.
Perform record keeping functions, e.g. processing, sterilization, quality assurance, etc.
Perform ordering, stocking and inventory control functions.
Maintain adequate levels, inventories, and orders supplies; stock supplies.
Participate in in-service education.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience in central service/sterile processing areas and successful completion of recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing.
