Overview:

Completes all core operational activities within Commercial Lending Quality Control team, while ensuring adherence to Department procedures, Corporate policies, Compliance, Audit and legal requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete complex level review, analysis and interpretation of legal Bank documentation over all disciplines.
  • Respond to or initiate complex, non-standardized requests to internal business partners.
  • Respond to and/or resolve mid to high-level escalations and special requests across all disciplines.  Research and provide follow-up to escalated issues.
  • Interact with vendors.
  • Assist with cross-training of basic and mid-level core disciplines.
  • Provide shadowing and coaching to team associates under guidance and supervision of management.
  • Complete cross-training in all disciplines/functions of team and serve as back up for multiple team functions as required.
  • Utilize and challenge mid to high level internal procedures across the Department.  Create and modify Departmental procedures as needed.
  • Utilize multiple Bank systems and applications.
  • Serve as back-up to Group Leader under management supervision.
  • Run and create business reports.
  • Interact with internal and external business partners and management
  • Assist with management requests providing support for Department audits as requested.
  • Work with Compliance and Risk on various initiatives.
  • Onboard and/or train and coach newly hired Associates.
  • Participate in projects related to responsibilities.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Associates’ degree and a minimum of 2 years’ related work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ related work experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of 3 years’ experience within quality assurance or quality control

Minimum of 3 years’ experience reviewing legal or loan documentation
 

Work Location:

This position is hybrid, with available office locations reporting to M&T Center in Buffalo, NY, Bridgeport Center in Bridgeport, CT or Williston Operations Center in Williston, VT.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $25.55 - $42.59 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
