About the Role

In this role, you will be providing support to the Senior Legal Counsel in dealing with the legal matters of AIA Singapore group to ensure robust risk management.

Primary focus will be on providing legal support and advice on general corporate and commercial matters.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide legal advice and support on business and operational activities primarily in the areas of insurance, product, distribution, healthcare, reinsurance, agency recruitment/ events/ training, claims, data protection, regulatory compliance, disputes and general corporate commercial matters, including instructing and managing external counsel as appropriate. This will include the drafting, review and negotiation of various types of documents. [60%]
  • To support in the exploring, assessing and implementing of legal technology, digitalisation and AI for the Legal Division. [30%]
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties assigned from time to time, including new business initiatives and transactions.  [10%]

Requirements:

  • Law degree from a recognized university. 
  • 2-5 years PQE
  • Admitted to the Singapore Bar, and of good standing.
  • Creative, “out-of-the-box” thinker with solid problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Driven team player with grit and strong self-motivation to deep dive into issues and drive matters to timely resolution.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, mature in thinking and great interpersonal skills.
  • Resilient and able to thrive in a high pressure, fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Quick learner with a curious mindset and a spirit of excellence.
  • Humble, resourceful, adaptable and meticulous.
