Job Description:

The Role

As a Principal Quality Engineer (QE), you will be part of an agile squad, working closely with another QE and cross-functional team members to ensure quality is deeply embedded in every stage of the development lifecycle. You will take ownership of the squad’s automation strategy, champion best practices, and deliver high-impact, fully automated test solutions that support rapid, reliable delivery and act as a mentor for junior QE members of the squad.

Beyond your squad, you will partner with your peers across the global quality engineering space for your domain, influencing quality engineering practices, and driving initiatives that raise the bar for test automation, tooling, and continuous quality. You will collaborate with the quality leadership team to explore and validate new technologies, lead technical initiatives, and help shape the future of quality engineering within the organization.

The Expertise we are looking for.

  • 10 years + experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Confidence to champion quality engineering.
  • Expertise in front end automation is key.
  • Experience in test automation using an established frameworks like Playwright, Selenium
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience in API test automation.
  • Excellent communication skills that prioritize collaboration.
  • Leverage extensive experience of Agile to provide ideas that improve sprint deliveries.
  • Extensive experience with requirement analysis, defect tracking, coordinating with team members in different locations, and test reporting and signoff.
  • Proven experience in mentoring junior associates.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to address sophisticated issues.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on defects.
  • High level of dedication, initiative, vision, and passion.
  • Strong technically and looking for a challenge.
  • Extensive experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools, job creation and maintenance
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and learn in-house developed tools and practices.
  • Jira and Xray a plus.

The Purpose of your role

  • Act as a technical leader and quality champion within the squad and across the wider quality engineering space.
  • Be an independent and authoritative voice ensuring quality is engineered into the product from the ground up.
  • Own and evolve the test automation strategy and planning, ensuring consistent, scalable, and maintainable practices across the squad.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other QEs, fostering a culture of excellence, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with regional and global quality leads to align on a unified quality strategy and share best practices.
  • As a hands-on squad member, design and implement robust front-end UI automation using Playwright, and contribute to API testing where needed.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the Squad Lead, analysts, developers, business specialists, and vendors to ensure quality is embedded at every step.
  • Take ownership of QE technical debt, tooling decisions, and test architecture, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead or support proofs of concept and strategic initiatives, acting as a trusted advisor to the Chapter Lead and other stakeholders.
