The Director is a senior-level professional responsible for supporting clients in accessing capital markets and providing strategic advisory services across a range of corporate finance transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives, in partnership with colleagues across the broader Banking business.

The primary objective of this role is to serve as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering strategic insights, developing tailored financial solutions, and supporting the origination and execution of capital raising and advisory opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage extensive investment banking, corporate finance, or related experience to drive transaction execution and support the growth of Citi’s Capital Markets & Advisory franchise.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to deliver strategic advice and financial solutions aligned to client objectives.

  • Build and manage a pipeline of transaction opportunities to support revenue generation and broader business goals.

  • Coordinate and execute capital raising, strategic advisory, and other corporate finance transactions across a diverse client base.

  • Evaluate transaction opportunities and proposed solutions to ensure alignment with Citi’s risk, return, and governance standards.

  • Monitor market developments and emerging trends to anticipate client needs and identify potential opportunities.

  • Identify, assess, and manage key risks associated with client transactions and business activities.

  • Partner effectively with product, coverage, and execution teams to deliver integrated client solutions.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members while supporting talent development and effective team resourcing.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering sophisticated financial analysis, strategic insights, and market intelligence.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, market practices, and corporate finance developments relevant to client activities.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment and uphold the highest standards of integrity, risk management, and compliance in all business activities.

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and control requirements, escalating issues appropriately and promoting a strong risk and control environment.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, or related financial advisory roles.

  • Proven track record of originating, executing, and managing complex corporate finance transactions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior client relationships.

  • Experience leading teams and developing junior professionals.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of capital markets, advisory services, and corporate finance solutions.

  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to navigate complex situations and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong commitment to collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and professional integrity.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Master's degree or other advanced professional qualification preferred.
