Summary:

We are currently seeking a UX Research Manager to join our Product Design team. This role is available to candidates across our hubs in Burnaby, Toronto and Calgary and can be performed in a hybrid capacity from across Canada or the.

What your team does:

We believe solid research is pivotal to crafting a shared understanding that helps inspire, design, and build the products that fuel Clio’s mission of transforming the legal experience for all. We’re looking for an experienced design research leader who believes that research is a team effort and that empathy, passion, and storytelling are foundational to creating great experiences. You bring research expertise balanced with a pragmatic approach to help teams reach their goals with velocity. 

What you’ll work on:

  • Your role will include both people management and research execution.  

  • You’ll evangelize design research across the R&D department through close collaboration with product, design and engineering.

  • You’ll conduct generative and evaluative research to make sure we’re building the right thing and also building the thing right. 

  • You’ll partner with designers and product managers to build a stronger experience across our products. 

  • You’ll bring strength in both qualitative and quantitative research and know how to get the right answers to the questions we’re asking. 

  • You have great storytelling capabilities and can help the organization better understand what drives and motivates Clio’s customers. You are adept at sharing the right level of insight depending on the stakeholder you are talking to.

  • You will synthesize research findings in an engaging and actionable way. 

  • You help teams action the research insights that they and your team uncover to make sure we’re getting the most value out of investing in research. 

  • You will directly manage Clio’s current researchers and help develop their careers and deepen their craft.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to grow the design research team based on the needs of the department and Clio. 

  • You’ll collaborate closely with Clio’s other Strategic Research teams and coordinate initiatives across.. 

  • You’ll level up our research practice both within the research team but also the product and design teams more broadly.

What you have:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience managing design researchers. 

  • Strong experience in qualitative and quantitative research, with a focus on influencing product roadmaps and delivering delightful customer experiences.

  • Experience working in a complex space that targets many different types of users.

  • Strong skills applying multiple research methodologies, including data collection, analysis and synthesis.

  • A high level of comfort working within a self-directed culture and navigating ambiguity

The full salary range* for this role is $144,000 to $180,000 to $216,000 CAD.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
