What will you do?

The purpose of the role is to lead and manage a team of IT professionals in delivering high-quality Microsoft application solutions, ensuring alignment with IT strategies and enabling business objectives.

Your impact will be seen by:

Application Management

  • Lead the product squad in the delivery and support of Microsoft solutions for enterprise and Aurecon project delivery.

  • Guide and mentor the development team, offering expert advice on technical issues, design, and best practices.

  • Oversee code quality and development practices, adherence to standards, and implementation of best practices to maintain high development standards.

  • Proactively manage applications to ensure optimal performance, availability, and capacity.

  • Oversee prompt detection, documentation, and resolution of service interruptions, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of prevention plans.

  • Measure, report, and analyse service and team performance, providing actionable insights to drive improvements and inform decision-making.

  • Make informed decisions to navigate complex technical challenges, resolve roadblocks and ensure delivery success.

  • Managing external support providers to meet established SLAs.

People Management

  • Develop and mentor team members, helping them achieve their professional goals

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals and manage timely feedback to ensure the team members meet their goals and contribute effectively.

  • Create a positive and collaborative work environment, resolve conflicts, and recognize achievements to maintain high team morale and productivity.

  • Ensure robust work coverage and succession planning for all critical roles to guarantee continuity.

  • Manage resources capability, capacity and workflow to optimise value for business.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders for delivery of services.

  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders and the team.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, strong sense of responsibility, flexibility, and adaptability to varying request. Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills. And as part of a new team, you will have the opportunity to shape this role and have input into how we evolve it over time to WOW our employees and make an even bigger impact on the world. You will also need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any related discipline

  • 3+ years’ experience in Team Lead / People Manager roles specialized in IT Application Management (operations, support and development)

  • Demonstrated capability in leading small, highly technical teams, within a multinational IT Shared service environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in application management, including support, enhancement and optimisation of Microsoft applications.

  • Development experience in Dynamics, SharePoint or Power Platform is desired.

  • Strong understanding of coding standards, development practices and ITSM processes.

  • Demonstrated experienced as Scrum Master is desired.

  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing team members, with a focus on performance management and creating a positive work environment.

  • Proven ability to facilitate communication between stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Experience in measuring, reporting, and analysing service and team performance to drive improvements.

  • Track record of making strategic decisions and resolving complex issues effectively.

  • Effective work ethics with integrity and accountability.

  • Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information systems and their relation to business activities and objectives.

  • Stays updated with developing technologies and takes responsibility for personal development.
