Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications, and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the oversight of team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution, especially in smaller units.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries  in South Africa.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
• Providing leadership and active involvement in continuous improvement and simplification.
• Supporting local Sales and Tendering through early involvement in tenders.
• Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in leading complex projects to the value of 15 MUSD to 50 MUSD in the Energy market.
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in Project Management. You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Management, leading complex projects.
• ​Possess an enhanced knowledge of Primavera, MS Projects and SAP.
• You are passionate about /working in a team environment and leading a project team.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Light or Heavy Current as well as a tertiary qualification in Project management, and you are PMP certified with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
• You are at ease communicating in English
• You hold current a code 8 license valid in South Africa.
• FIDIC and NEC contract knowledge would be advantageous
