What to expect in this role
Our client is an international leader, the biggest in the world, in payments processing technology servicing all types of businesses – big and small, online and traditional retail outlets.
The company’s financial products include credit cards, ATM processing, merchant services, rewards and fraud prevention.
They specialize in delivering online payment services to our customers and we are looking for Engineers to join our team to take it to the next level. They are unique in the world and put us firmly beyond what the competition can deliver.
Operating within a collaborative Agile environment, we aim to deliver effective solutions to the business and our customers using our evolving payment platform.
As a Delivery Network Engineer, you’ll work with large, complex network systems and help maintain the infrastructure that’s critical to the world of global fintech. This will involve upgrading systems and software and deploying network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls. You are the end-to-end owner of network infrastructure. You design and manage network security frameworks to support all hosted environments. You own information security and network reliability, and they are at the core of your thought processes.
Being part of the organization, you’ll help to engineer and deliver the core infrastructure services that power our payments platform. We’re responsible for running some very critical systems, hosted from our data centers and public cloud.
Resolving all network problems and quickly responding to customer requests.
Troubleshooting network problems and recommending corrective procedures. Work with vendors such as Cisco/Juniper to arrange RMA replacements and implement the
RMA as required.
Maintaining network services documentation and completing network change requests.
Take part in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 cover.
Network Management and Troubleshooting:
Provide L1/L2 support and troubleshoot issues on Cisco Nexus/ACI and Junos
platforms.
Perform captures on devices (F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto) and interpret TCP/IP using Wireshark.
Advanced Network Engineering:
Configure and manage L3 devices including Cisco ASR, Juniper routers, and Cisco Nexus
Troubleshoot and implement Cisco ACI fully app-centric networks, including Spine/Leaf Topology, EPGs, Contracts, and Filters.
Understand and apply differences between net-centric and app-centric models.
Manage BGP/MP-BGP, OSPF, MPLS backbone (segment routing), and VRFs.
Implement and manage F5 load balancing (LTM & GTM).
Understand Multicast configurations.
Cloud Networking
Experience with AWS/Azure networking, troubleshooting, and deploying.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud connectivity such as Direct Connect
(AWS), ExpressRoute (Azure) as well as other constructs such as (AWS) Transit
Gateway, VPCs etc.
Network Security:
Implement and manage security policies on Fortinet, Palo Alto, SRX, and ASA
firewalls.
Understand and configure Zone-Based Firewalls and routing instances (VRFs).
Configure and troubleshoot IPSEC VPNs (Ph1/Ph2).
Configure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) solution.
Understand DDOS protection measures.
Wireless Networking:
Configure and manage Wi-Fi solutions (including Cloud managed solutions) with
Radius authentication and NAC.
Network Automation and Monitoring:
Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Python, JSON, and YAML.
Utilize Splunk for network monitoring and analysis.
Qualifications and Tech Proficiency
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network delivery and operations.
Expert knowledge of Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
Strong understanding of networking protocols and security principles.
Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
