Role Summary and Purpose
- The Business Solutions Manager will support the Head of Business Solutions in owning the improvement agenda for our London Market insurance and UK regional underwriting sector.
- This role serves as a vital link between underwriting, technology, and business operations, contributing to the alignment of processes within organisational goals.
- By utilising analytical insights and implementing innovative, technology-driven solutions, the manager will help streamline operations, improve productivity, and drive the overall success of the organisation
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Solutions and Business Function Leaders to identify and prioritise business needs and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the management of transformation demands and ensure effective coordination of dependencies across teams.
- Support the tracking of business results by working closely with IT, Process Excellence, and Strategic Analytics.
- Contribute to the assessment of London Market and Lloyd's initiatives against AEIS priorities, identifying necessary operational and technological initiatives to support underwriting functions.
- Help define operational and technological roadmaps in partnership with IT and underwriting teams.
Execution:
- Implement improvements in underwriting and operational processes with a focus on enhancing productivity and digitalisation.
- Design and monitor operational KPIs, track performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate cross-functional transformation projects, acting as a key contributor in various initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and other enabling functions to ensure the successful delivery of technology and analytics-enabled workflows.
Team Collaboration:
- Support the establishment and development of the Triangulation Center of Excellence to improve integration of people, processes, technology, and data across the organisation.
- Engage in cross-functional problem-solving with teams across IT, Data, Strategic Analytics, and other operational functions.
Role Requirements & Skills
Skills / Competencies
- Expertise across the London Market Insurance underwriting sector.
- Ability to assess operational and technological implications of strategic business plans.
- Effective communication of enterprise strategy and operational plans to stakeholders.
- Collaboration with IT and business partners to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Capacity to support leading large-scale transformation efforts.
- Focus on business outcomes and the ability to articulate business cases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholder groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in related field or qualified by experience.
- Proven experience in business solutions management or a related role within the insurance or underwriting sector.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of the London Market and Lloyd's.
- Strategic planning and execution aligned to business objectives and driving operational improvements.
- Proven track record of cross Functional Collaboration to ensure successful project delivery.
- Project management expertise with a track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Familiarity with implementing technology driven solutions and automation strategies.
- Proven ability to achieve business outcomes and articulate related business cases.
