F&G is hiring AVP, ALM Asset Projections. This role is responsible for the strategic oversight of the targeted asset projection process and team.  AVP, ALM Asset Projections will provide strategice leadership to ensure F&G can make informed decisions, optimize financial performance, and align decisions with our long-term vision and goals.

The AVP, ALM Asset Projections function sits within the ALM team at F&G. The AVP, ALM Asset Projections reports to the VP, ALM and will manage a team of 3-5 individuals.  This position will work with several teams throughout the company, including but not limited to Investments, Risk, Finance, and Actuarial.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the asset projection process, including ownership of the process, controls governing the process, and the projection analysis.
  • Act as a liaison between the Investments and ALM departments to guide projection results.
  • Oversee projections, perform analysis, provide commentary, and summarize findings for internal audiences to meet their business needs.
  • Collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure project progress and continuity.
  • Produce reports and supporting information for analysis memos and other presentations that articulates findings, insights, commentary, and projections to stakeholders succinctly and ensure transparency and alignment including assessing how changes in assumptions impact asset projections.
  • Lead the team responsible for preparing data for use in projection models, running model projections jobs, and managing model output and scenario results.
  • Review asset projection scenario analysis and communicate results with ALM and Investments teams.
  • Ensure guidelines are implemented and compliant for asset projection documents and activities.
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to align efforts and drive successful outcomes.
  • Leverage technology to derive insightful information used for decision making.
  • Provide guidance and leadership the Asset Projection team.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvements for both process and reporting. 

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • FSA preferred, ASA required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related actuarial experience.
  • Experience effectively managing a team.
  • Experience with financial projection models preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of asset classes, portfolio management, financial principles, economic trends, economic cycles, interest rates, inflation, investment vehicles, risk-return trade-offs, financial calculations, market dynamics, and liabilities.
  • Highly organized, attentive to details, commitmed to delivering accurate information on schedule.
  • Excellent communicator to all levels. Provides clear direction with a results-oriented style.
  • Disciplined commitment to model governance protocols.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial projections and interactions between various product features and actuarial calculation results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills that include advanced analytical and reasoning abilities to apply actuarial concepts to complex situations.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes. Initiative, adaptability and flexibility to produce results.
  • Ability to address challenges related to asset projections including understanding the overall context and purpose.
  • Expertise and experience of improving processes and utilizing technology to improve efficiency.
