We are looking for a Corporate Communications Manager in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to join our EMEA Corporate Communications team to support UZNIF, a $1.5 billion fund.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Deliver a dedicated PR programme supporting the objectives of the UZNIF fund both locally in Uzbekistan and internationally. 

    • Partner with the local leadership and portfolio management teams in setting goals, creating a comprehensive and integrated communications strategy to support business goals locally.

    • Partner closely with the Head of Corporate Communications EMEA to develop a sustained media relations programme targeting multiple stakeholders.

    • Proactively develop and update key messages that are relevant for this mandate ensuring segmentation for different audiences.

    • Identify and develop thought leadership opportunities to showcase the firm’s investment expertise.

    • Build and strengthen existing media relationships with reporters and target and develop new relationships.

    • Identify editorial opportunities and market trends that can be leveraged for the institutional publications.

  • Manage the PR agency; take ownership on all aspect of PR deliverables whilst ensuring alignment on all activities. 

  • Partner with Investor Relations and Portfolio Management teams on IPO communication requirements.

  • Closely collaborate with Marketing colleagues to support branding and social media efforts for UZNIF.

  • Support and media train spokesperson as appropriate.

  • Organise press conference, educational events to increase awareness of UZNIF with reporters.

  • Support, monitor and develop the government relations programme.

  • Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of PR Programme.

  • Manage the Corp Comms desk in Tashkent efficiently.

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism or Communication or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • 7+ years of robust PR experience within an asset management or financial services.

  • A thorough understanding of strategic communication and the financial industry.

  • Experience of supporting IPO communication programmes preferred.

  • Strong experience in managing PR Agencies

  • Ability to work closely in a collaborative environment.  Team player essential.

  • Proficiency in English and either Uzbek or Russian is required.

  • Must be adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities and achieving objectives.

  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and be assertive and relentless in the pursuit of making certain that company news gets appropriate attention among the media and the public.

  • Able to partner with a diverse set of stakeholders and communicate across various levels of management

  • Superior writing and editing skills required. Experience writing for a variety of communication vehicles: press releases, newsletters, memos, Intranet content, talking points, presentations, video, etc.
