Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality

  • Completes all required safety training and ensures all work is conducted in accordance with safety policies
  • Drives a proactive safety culture and supports the execution of EHS and PHA management systems
  • Identifies areas of improvement and drives the team towards continuous improvements
  • Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches on safety issues
  • Follows up on safety and quality-related issues and works towards resolution
  • Operates and maintains the area according to documentation and guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
  • Uses best-known practices and network resources to stay aligned on best-known methods

Communication & Teamwork

  • Partners with Process Development, Operations, and IE teams to develop effective plans for area improvements and completion of goals
  • Works closely with suppliers to address tool problems, defect issues, and improve tool availability
  • Improves communication and collaboration with area, department, and network partners, as well as with any external customers
  • Coordinate and lead meetings and initiate follow-up actions
  • Partners with HVMs in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation as part of Benchmarking and transfer activities

Technical/Data Analysis

  • Analyzes data to make critical decisions and drive cost reduction activities
  • Provides troubleshooting support for sophisticated problems and addresses root causes
  • Serves as a key area resource for technical support and/or providing required technical resources to support TD requirements
  • Drives a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, WS health reports, CIP items, MTAGs, MOP documents, and restoration guides

Project Management/Planning

  • Serves as manager of area equipment owners
  • Leads projects to ensure deliverables are completed within the required scope, schedule, and budget
  • Supervises actions and provides a clear path or resources to address blocking issues and ensure timely completion.
  • Drives team to focus on priority issues and stay within the scope of the project
  • Coordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actions
  • Supports department business processes for new tool installations, as well as existing tool modifications or removals
  • Partners with Procurement, Process Development, Process Integration, Planning, and manufacturing on new tool/chamber purchases

Performance Management

  • Conducts regular performance management and professional development through clear expectations and accountability
  • Ensures direct reports apply the performance management tools, including maintaining documentation to collect feedback, plans, and progress to support performance rating.
  • Ensures team members complete all assigned tasks before critical deadlines are passed by maintaining open dialogue and feedback
  • Defines roles to meet the overall organizational job expectations of the team
  • Knows Micron policies and partners closely with HR
  • Ensures the area has succession plans for all key positions
  • Provides guidance to identify, develop, and promote technical expertise (process, device, equipment, etc.)
  • Meets regularly with team members to review performance, provide feedback, and create development plans applying SuccessFactors.
  • Partners with direct reports to create long/short-term goals and projects that meet individual needs and the needs of the department

Fab Performance

Collaborate to improve area output and reduce wait and lost time.

  • Drives unscheduled downtime reductions, MA improvements, and excursion prevention to optimize overall fab performance
  • Prioritizes projects and area focus on correcting tactical issues that impact productivity, as well as developing strategic solutions to achieve long term improvements
  • Partners with manufacturing and planning to optimize the workstation balance in the area

Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead a technical team to meet area and department goals
  • Proven track record to lead and manage the performance of direct reports
  • Proven ability to develop and mentor team members
  • Proven track record to lead by example in demonstrating Micron values and leadership competencies
  • Strong negotiation, and partnership skills
  • Sophisticated understanding of process flow related to area equipment
  • Advanced PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MICAP, Ariba, and MAXIMO
  • Proven ability to communicate well, both written and verbally
  • Proven ability to present highly technical information to audiences at all levels
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively coordinate teams and projects
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team to meet area and department goals
  • Proven ability to manage the performance of direct reports and mentor the team
  • Proven ability to multi-task sophisticated projects
  • Advanced understanding of the Fab process areas including area processing equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to present highly technical information to internal and external audiences
  • Knowledge of the main utility systems supplied by the Facilities group

Education & Experience

  • Required: A.A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience, along with 5+ years of Dry Etch Equipment Owner experience; applicable Fab experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
  • Preferred: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience with 7+ years of Dry Etch Equipment Owner experience; previous Equipment Manager experience.
