This is an exciting time to contribute to a mission-critical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Systems Engineer to a growing Agile development task. The SE will work closely with an agile team of software developers, Subject Matter Experts, and analysts to perform requirements derivation and refinement.  The SE will lead or aid in backlog grooming, clearing roadblocks, and reporting progress to ensure features are added or improved during the sprint.  The SE will support the development of an end-to-end data processing architecture and deliver presentations and demonstrations to the customer. The candidate must be a proactive, self-starter with technical leadership and communication skills.
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Derive functional, system, and performance requirements

• Develop various systems engineering artifacts (CONOPs, architecture diagrams, etc.)

• Develop schedules for features; Perform backlog grooming

• Write and review documentation
• Serve as team lead

• Experience supporting the development and deployment of technology capabilities.

• Experience working with project managers, systems analysts, engineers, and application developers to design systems to obtain information on program and project capabilities, performance, requirements, and interfaces.

• Ability to prepare project information and technical analysis in a clear and concise manner for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience supporting an IT program with multiple projects.

• Experience in the identification of technical capabilities and assessment of gaps in a technical solution, platform, or application.

• Experience drafting and maintaining all required programmatic and technical artifacts are successfully created, managed, and maintained.

• Experience delivering cloud-based systems and applications in the customer’s network environment.

• Experience working with the customer’s data processing file formats and file types. (e.g., XML, JSON)

• Domain knowledge and hands on experience working in the customer’s mission environment.

• Experience working with the customer’s data processing file formats and file types.

• Experience working with data driven workflows.

• Experience and/or familiarity with STE/STN compliance objectives.
• Create various status reports

Basic Qualifications

Fifteen (15) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Experience on a team that implements agile scrum methodology.

- Team Leadership

- Experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts

- Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary 

  development and operational considerations

- Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process

- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)

- Agile experience

- Experience with MS Project and/or Visio

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the customer’s data lifecycle management processes and guidelines.

• Demonstrated experience working with the customer’s suite of tools that support data collection, management, and reporting.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with enterprise-wide systems, infrastructure solutions, and services.

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the customer’s mission, technical needs, system and security architecture.

• Demonstrated experience consulting with customers about software systems design and maintenance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
