The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager of Safety & Industrial (SIBG), you will work as a key member of the business team, enhancing collaboration across divisions and central business group functions. In this role, you will collaborate with the SIBG Global Industrial Channel and central functional leaders to lead the operational and strategic planning cadence. This role will also lead planning activities across the different geographic areas for the Global Industrial Channel including weekly sales and order forecasting, quarterly review preparation and analysis, operating planning, and strategic planning. Here, you will make an impact by: 

  • Collaborating with the SIBG Channel Finance Leader to drive the financial operational rhythm (Strategic, Operating, quarterly, monthly, weekly) assuring alignment and process standardization
  • Driving robust processes in financial planning & analysis to improve business results, target attainment & accountability.
  • Collaborating with SIBG R&D Leadership on New Product Introduction Analysis
  • Lead financial analytics in support of quarterly estimates, financial, and business reviews.
  • Connecting operational actions to financial planning to drive accountability & execution.
  • Leveraging analytical tools, risk analysis approaches, data analytics and statistical assessment to enhance understanding of financial performance and outlook.
  • Leading SIBG Gross to Net Sales and Pricing Analytics
  • Supporting budgeting and spending analysis processes for R&D, Marketing, Commercial Center, and Admin functions within the business group.
  • Willingness to join cross functional projects
  • Collaborating with other division FP&A leaders, SIBG FP&A, and Corporate FP&A to improve processes and analytical approaches
  • Ensuring that success is achieved through the utmost ethical and legal means, ensuring.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Seven (7) years of finance experience working in private, public, government or military environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and conflicting deadlines
  • Solid business knowledge and acumen as well as strategic thinking mindset
  • Prior experience in Division Portfolio or Area Business Finance
  • Thinks broadly of intersections between business, financial, and economic data
  • Creative problem solving - ability to work with a wide variety of functional teams to address key issues
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights and analysis
  • Previous experience in a Business Finance role
  • Self-starter with ability to drive change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and across multiple geographic teams.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience leading others and contributing to cross-functional teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Risk management analysis skills
  • Experience with Longview
  • Experience with developing Power BI tools

Work location:

  • This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
  • Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
