The Role

Account for drilling consumables in the stores facilities and contribute to Sandvik’s value added services by doing regular bit Sharpening to prolong bit life and optimize product performance. 

Responsibilities

• Oversees receipt, storage and control of drilling consumables.
• Perform related Inventory reporting in accordance with established Procedures.
• Issue out drilling consumables on a one-for-one exchange basis at the surface store to be used on underground drill rigs.
• The Stores personnel will daily monitor consignment stock and do a physical count daily to replenish the stock drawn from the stores
• Bit-boxes will be prepared by the Sandvik stores personnel from the distribution store at the start of each shift and receive it again by end of each shift  
• The Storeman will assess the condition of the bits in the bit-box and exchange or replace as required in preparation for the next shift.
• Recovery and refurbishment of product by doing regular bit grinding
• Bit boxes will be inspected by the storeman between shifts and any blunt bits will be replaced with new or sharpened drill bits.
• Analysis of Product Performance
• Through regular scrap analysis and ad hoc investigations, stores personnel will evaluate product failures using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and make recommendations as to how to minimize or prevent it.

Your profile

• BGCSE or any related warehouse & Inventory qualifications
• Rock Tools experience in relevant mining environment
• Valid class B  driver’s license
• Computer literacy
