The AI Engineer is a forward deployed hybrid technical and client-facing role responsible for designing, building, and deploying production-grade AI solutions directly within buisnesscustomer environments. This role bridges the gap between advanced AI capabilities and real-world business applications by embedding with clients and business professionals,, understanding their needs, and delivering end-to-end AI systems that drive measurable impact.

This individual operates across the full AI lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through deployment and optimization—while collaborating cross-functionally with business stakeholders. The role requires a strong engineering mindset, customer orientation, and the ability to translate complex problems into scalable AI solutions

Duties and Responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

People:

  • Deliver cutting edge AI solutions in coordination with end users/business professionals
  • Acts as a technical advisor to clients, building strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Shares insights and best practices from client engagements to improve internal tools, playbooks, and direction.

Client:

  • Partners directly with business professionals and customers to understand needs and challenges, and to define AI strategy and use cases.
  • Leads end-to-end deployment of AI solutions, including discovery, scoping, system design, development, and production rollout.
  • Builds and deploys scalable AI applications (e.g., LLM workflows, agent-based systems) integrated with client infrastructure.
  • Embeds within client and business environments to ensure successful adoption, performance, and measurable business outcomes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field.
  • Prior relevant experience in software engineering, machine learning, or solutions engineering roles.
  • Experience deploying AI/ML or generative AI systems into production environments.
  • Experience orchestrating durable, long-horizon agentic solutions using frontier language models.
  • Proven experience working in client-facing or consulting-style environments preferred.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.

Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., LLMs, LangChain, vector databases)

Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Ability to design and deploy scalable, production-grade systems integrating AI into enterprise workflows. Proven experience using agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex) in professional engineering workflows.

Valid driver’s license required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May directly supervise employees in the Business Solutions practice and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies and applicable laws.
