Job summary

The Red Hat Openshift Cluster Management UI team is looking for a front end intern to join our team. In this role, you will develop UI components using React JS to support the user experience vision of our interaction designers. You'll need to be both creative and self-motivated, proficient in building web applications, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. The primary area of expertise for this position is React JS and its associated frameworks (ie. TypeScript, Redux, REST API, CSS, JSX, HTML, etc).

This is not your average internship. You will be asked to work with a team to build next generation UIs that solve real-world challenges for users building hybrid cloud applications. Similar to a startup, you’ll be racing against time compelling you to prove your creativity, innovation, passion and knowledge - with the support, expertise, guidance and backing of the world’s leading open source technology company, to turn an idea into a real product.

As part of this team, you will contribute to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, built on Linux containers and the Kubernetes cluster management system. Being part of the OpenShift team is about passion for technology and development. We are building a system that is changing how cloud native development is done and new age applications are built.

You'll need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the goal of contributing to one of the most cutting-edge cloud computing projects, with the support of the Red Hat engineering team and Product Managers.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with UX designers to bring UI designs from concept to implementation through rapid prototyping and evaluation of design ideas

  • Work with supporting development teams to gather information about system APIs and help shape the data that is available for UI consumption

  • Implement UIs with clean, responsive, performant, and accessible HTML/CSS and Javascript as needed to support design vision

  • Precision in attention to design details to ensure a clean and clear experience for users through implementation of subtle interactions and affordances

  • Collaborate with peer developers, designers, and product management during brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and code reviews

  • Iterate with the team to improve your solutions given feedback on your submissions and demos

Required skills

  • Experience building web applications using React JS, Redux, REST, and HTML/CSS.

  • Great communication and collaboration skills, with a strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn new technologies, languages, and systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Israel during the whole duration of the internship and eligible to begin a full-time role in 2026 or 2027

  • Must be available for the internship  from May 2025 till April 2026

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with development tools like TypeScript, Git, webpack, and Cypress

  • Experience with agile development and open source projects

  • Familiarity or interest with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms in general

As a part of the Internship Program, you can apply to a maximum of 3 internship roles.

We’re looking for students who want to learn and grow their skills with us. If you are interested in this opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
