The Senior Manager, Product Management is responsible for product management leadership for a product train – or component(s) of a product train- and supporting product teams. They are responsible for owning and defining the product vision and strategy, the roadmap, feature delivery, and overall success of the product to enable a best-in-class E2E experience. This role focuses on the pharmacy operational processes and concepts.
They manage a backlog of features and enablers to enhance the product and extend its architectural and discovery runway. They are responsible for overall product health, inclusive of technical health, and risk communication. They provide leadership and guidance on how to sequence and prioritize investments to optimize value. They will also manage people essential to achieving product goals such as Team Product Leads and Analysts and is responsible for creating a positive team culture through growing, coaching, and establishing high performing teams.
This individual will generally work closely with the Business General Manager, Design, Engineering, and Data/Analytics forming the “Five in a Box” cross-discipline product team. They will serve as the main point-of-contact with other stakeholders such as architects, tech-ops, security, etc. to ensure overall cohesion for their product or experience.
Responsibilities:
Product Vision, Strategy, and Road mapping - 20% of Time
· Defines, and continually reassess the product vision, strategy, and roadmap and drives alignment across the solution in collaboration with product strategy.
· Makes decisions, in partnership with senior business leaders, on digital investments and priorities and develops business cases with partners.
· Responsible for translating customer and business needs into short-term and long-term product direction (outcome roadmap), aligned to how that product will deliver on the larger strategic program and/or product line outcomes.
· Connects the roadmap to specific value drivers that contribute to business priorities, objectives and key results, and strategic programs.
· Responsible for reviewing, providing feedback, and aligning roadmaps, workforce management tools, capacity, timelines, and commitments across their respective solution and product areas with product, engineering, design, and other teams.
Team Backlog Ownership, User Story Development, and Prioritization - 40% of Time
· Manages and owns the quality of the product-level backlog ensuring it aligns with the vision, strategy, and roadmap. The backlog includes all product work including new business.
functionality, discovery and exploration, maintenance, production support, technical modernization, and operational health improvements. This also includes pricing, licensing, and Return-on-investment of the product.
· Facilitates agile ceremonies & meetings, including PI Planning, in partnership with the product leadership team.
· Defines features, identifies dependencies, and writes user stories with Team Product Leads and sizes ahead of future quarters.
Trend Monitoring and Product Performance - 10% of Time
· Defines product KPIs to deliver product OKRs, socializes progress and consistently reinforces objectives and alignment with solution-level or portfolio outcomes.
· Uses performance data to identify issues quickly and develop new insights and hypothesis about product health.
· Drive status for OKR metrics, ETMM status, and Brilliant Basics through communication with Team Product Leads, Domain Owners, and senior leadership
· Understands product health to inform roadmap and stakeholder updates. Key metrics include core Product Metrics (i.e., Visits, Success Rates, etc.), Technical Health (i.e., Site Speed, Crash Rate, API Performance, etc.), Customer Feedback (i.e., App Rating, Quantum Metric, Medallia, etc.) and/or other appropriate metrics.
Product Value, Cross-Functional Teaming, and Stakeholder Management - 25% of Time
· With assistance from the Group Product Lead, sets the direction and provides continuous feedback for discovery work, ensuring that the product team is focused on continuous exploration, understanding market and customer needs, and partnering with customer and user experience teams.
· Accountable for the teams’ feature and epic delivery and final output to stakeholders
· Interface and partners with Product Strategy to communicate progress, insights, and risks across the business, specifically with key stakeholders.
· Collaborate with business partners to deeply understand their business strategies and outcomes their teams are driving to ensure business perspective is reflected and communicated to product teams.
Grow and Develop the Team - 5% of Time
· Champions strong product management and agile mindsets and values by actively communicating team wins and opportunities.
· Establishes high performing teams by growing, coaching, and maintaining quality Product Owners and Business Analysts while defining norms on how teams working on this product operate (e.g., via 1:1s, actionable feedback, time investment in career development, focus on career growth)
· Assists in setting a customer-centric culture to ensure their team understands the current performance of their product or experience, opportunities areas and the north star vision, and are monitoring and proactively reacting to key product health metrics and communicating updates.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree related field of study of Pharmacy, Business, or Technology or equivalent experience (high school + 4 years of relevant experience).
· 7+ years required Product Management experience with 1-2+ years of Sr. Product Management experience within an agile environment.
· 1+ years of leadership, people management experience.
. 2+ years of Specialty Pharmacy experience related to pharmacy operations. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist preferred.
Preferred Skills:
· Prior working experience with a software development team in an agile environment
· Ability to drive cross functional teams to alignment amid ambiguity.
· Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills
· Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills.
· Master’s degree in business or technology management curriculums.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$75,400.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
