While the School accepts applications in a variety of nursing fields, we are seeking to fill a position that is able to teach, among other areas of expertise, perinatal/maternal childcare.

The University of Ottawa is recognized nationally and internationally as one of Canada’s top research universities and the world’s largest bilingual (French and English) university. Located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinaabe-Algonquin people, in the heart of downtown Ottawa, it makes a major contribution to the economy, culture and quality of life of Canada’s capital. Its location in the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Nation, in the nation’s capital and close to numerous national agencies such as Health Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Statistics Canada and other government agencies, fosters the creation of partnerships and collaboration in training and research.

Founded in 1933, the School of Nursing is distinguished by its diverse epistemological positions and strong research intensity. It enjoys a national and international reputation for excellence in research and teaching in a dynamic working environment. All programs are offered in both official languages (French and English), with students able to complete their degree in the language of their choice.

The School of Nursing includes formal partnerships with all of Ottawa's major health care institutions to enhance research capacity and provide students with unparalleled clinical experiences. The School of Nursing is located within the Faculty of Health Sciences, which includes four other health-related schools (Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, School of Human Kinetics, School of Nutritional Sciences, and School of Rehabilitation Sciences), creating an environment conducive to interdisciplinary research activities.
