Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Nursing or related field plus eight (8) years of clinical practice experience in a maternal/infant specialty to include three (3) years of formal healthcare leadership experience.
Licenses, certificates, or registration:
Valid Registered Nursing License.
Must obtain National Certification within 1 year of hire into this role.

Responsibilities:
Collaboration
Functions as an effective and productive member of the leadership triad by actively contributing to overall strategic planning, vision and mission implementation for the Women and Infant Service Line (WISL).
Provides broad leadership and ensures success at all levels of the WISL.
Role model; positive, multidisciplinary collaboration and interaction with colleagues, management team, and ancillary services.
Program Development
Provides oversight that ensures that processes for hiring, training, developing and evaluating (licensed and unlicensed) nursing staff are consistent with organizational clinical ladder and yields a highly competent workforce.
Works with clinical informatics and information technology to ensure appropriate supports for medical, clinical and research excellence.
Ensures integration of Magnet standards within the WISL.
Promotes interest with all staff for continued education and participation in clinical research activities pertinent to their job duties, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.
Accountability
Obligated to the timely assessment and evaluation of staffing patterns for appropriate utilization of throughput that considers patient acuity, skill mix, and scope of practice and defined productivity targets.
Obligated to balanced scorecard outcomes that will include targets for patient satisfaction, clinical metrics, employee satisfaction, and workforce indicators (turnover, vacancy, advancement).
Responsible for personnel management of nursing staff, to include coaching, evaluation and correction as appropriate.
Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies and nursing practice standards set forth by the CNO.
Ensures that all patient-family-centered care principles are fully incorporated throughout nursing in the WISL clinical setting, which includes obligation within service recovery processes that address complaints or incidents involving patients, families, and visitors.
Interacts with representatives managing the WISL revenue cycle to ensure that clinical needs are prioritized within the prior authorization process, so that patient care is timely and not disrupted.
Quality improvement
Serves as a member of the Clinical Licensed Practitioner (CLP) Nursing Director Roundtable; collaborates with WISL and inpatient nursing directors to ensure consistent application of general performance and practice expectations.
Systematically evaluates the quality, effectiveness and evidence-base of nursing practice by leading and participating in quality improvement activities.
Represents nursing and allied providers to ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the WISL.
