The Role:

We are in search of an AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team.

As part of an Agile Team, this role designs, develops, and maintains cloud infrastructure using a tailored SAFe Agile SecDevOps Scrum process. This role uses best practices and patterns to perform design, development using AWS Services and Infrastructure as Code

You will also be expected to perform automated testing and unit testing, while performing automated deployments of software modules using a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools pipeline.

Duties also include participating in daily scrums, performing software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams. Flexible cross-training to also provide systems engineering, software development, training, security, and testing is also desired.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with GIT; including creating and merging PRs.
  • Experience with automating server configuration for security including logging, key changes, and system hardening.
  • 2+ years of experience with Ansible experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS AMI is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in terraform or similar IaC (CloudFormation, SAM, Serverless etc) automation is preferred.
  • Proven technical knowledge of network, internet systems, databases and operating systems including Microsoft in AWS.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages, including powershell, Python, Bash, GoLang.
  • Considerable experience in translating user stories into engineering deliverables and associated documentation.
  • Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leveraging both Trunk & GitFlow constructs
  • Considerable experience of with automated build/test/deploy
  • Considerable experience of AWS, SME (Wintel / Unix / Virtualised Networking / Monitoring / Security)
  • Experience of SAFe
  • Collaborator, self-starter
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets
  • Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon
  • Excellent English, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in CICD using Tools just as Jenkins
  • Familiarity with network concepts including DNS, VPCs & Load Balancing
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging in AWS
  • Understanding of AWS Security best practices
  • Problem solving and Devops best practices
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets
  • Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon

Required Skills:

  • Strong software engineering experience
  • Strong experience working with design and implementation of systems and applications in AWS
  • Experience automating the deployment and configuration of Windows applications in an Active Directory environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows system administration, including managing windows server and active directory

Desired Skills:

  • Certified AWS Devops Engineer
