The Director of Marketing will drive innovation and deliver best-in-class multi-platform marketing ideas that meet client needs, and leverage brand assets that align with TechCrunch. They will serve as an overall relationship manager with the editorial leads to bring value to all constituencies. They will maintain a strategic view over the team’s portfolio to align and maximize the impact of solutions provided to key stakeholders. Additionally, they will partner with cross-functional teams to create larger partnership ideas for direct sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee brand positioning and unique insights for TechCrunch’s global brand to inspire distinct campaign work that grows traffic while building the brand for the long-term

  • Lead work to grow our TechCrunch audience

  • Collaborate closely with Customer Insights to develop research objectives, key learnings, and action plans

  • Mine for unique insights to strengthen work and drive innovation

  • Mentor and develop team members to drive individual and collective growth

  • Lead consumer driven marketing calendar and partner with key cross-functional partners to execute the plan

  • Partner with the TechCrunch product and sales teams to understand upcoming launches

  • Create 360 campaigns to position each vertical for growth

  • Lead team to launch creative partnerships and action plans that can grow subscriptions across TechCrunch

  • Regularly report on marketing performance to GM and others of the TechCrunch executive team, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement

Qualifications

  • Must be located in the San Francisco/Bay Area. Hybrid work environment

  • 12+ years experience with demonstrated success in brand, growth and product marketing with proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies that have driven brand growth and product adoption

  • 7+ years experience in leadership; successful candidates should have a track record of building and leading high-performing marketing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Must have a proven track record of successful marketing in the media and/or tech  industry

  • Marketer who is fluent in brand and digital

  • Experience driving growth for brands across CRM and media Experience in product marketing with a focus on user growth Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions; with the ability to also leverage data insights to inform marketing strategies, measure campaign effectiveness, and optimize marketing spend

  • A strong commitment to a customer-centric approach, with the ability to put the customer at the center of marketing strategies

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying market trends and opportunities

  • Ability to articulate complex marketing strategies and concepts clearly and persuasively to both internal and external audiences

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
