Job Title: Lead SQL Server with Azure
Location: Pune

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic SQL Server DBA Engineer with Azure cloud technologies to join our team. This will include database management with a strong focus on best practices and process improvements in SQL Server database administration and cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Manage database performance, tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to ensure top-tier performance across both on-premises and cloud systems.
  • Take ownership of database security, including access control, encryption, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Design and implement automated database management workflows and monitoring solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and third-party tools.
  • Perform regular audits and reviews to ensure SQL Server and Azure databases adhere to best practices, security standards, and industry compliance regulations.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for production issues and incidents.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration or support.
  • In-depth expertise with MS SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, optimization, backups, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Virtual Machines (SQL Server on VMs), and Azure Data Services.
  • Experience with tools like Dynatrace and Rubrik.
  • Experience in DB migration from SQL server 2008/2012 to SQL Server 2022/2019 and Azure PaaS.
  • Experience in designing and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Azure-native, Replication options.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell and Azure Automation for automating routine DBA tasks, database monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Experience in managing and optimizing ETL processes using tools like Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD processes for database deployments, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Deep understanding of database security, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS), and industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certifications.
