The Talent Management Specialist enhances the total Associate experience across Family Dollar, by developing and implementing talent programs that drive associate growth and development. This role is responsible for the execution of key programs within the talent management lifecycle including performance evaluations, goal setting, and succession planning, as well as leadership competency models, coaching and feedback practices, career pathing, and high-potential development.
This role also generates and analyzes key talent metrics to transform data into recommendations that create and shape talent programs.
The Talent Management Specialist partners with Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, People Analytics, and HR Business Partners to effectively transform talent strategies to solutions that improve the Associate experience.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of key talent programs within the talent management lifecycle including performance evaluations, goal setting, and succession planning through effective project management, and development of supporting communications and resources
Serve as a Talent Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) on project teams that implement Talent Management programs across the enterprise including the Store Support Centers, Distribution Centers, and Stores
Promote the continued enhancement of Family Dollar culture through execution of talent programs that perpetuate the Company’s values and leadership competencies
Perform basic to complex analysis of associate data and human resources programs to measure talent lifecycle activities for presentation to senior leaders
Research external talent management 'best practices' and evaluate internal practices by gathering and analyzing data
Identify and track key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of Talent Management programs
Administer and support the execution of talent management processes in Workday
Partner with HR colleagues to identify organizational gaps, recommend changes for improvement, and provide talent management thought leadership, best practice and talent metrics to enhance programs

Qualifications:
Education: 4-year college degree in Human Resources, Business, I/O Psychology or equivalent experience; PHR / SPHR certification a plus.
Experience: A minimum 3 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources function that includes supporting multiple levels of management in a fast-paced work environment.
Technical Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency with full Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, to analyze and track key talent program metrics to determine overall effectiveness. Workday experience a plus.
Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, able to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently
Able to build effective working relationships with a broad range of styles and at all levels in the organization
Strong written and oral communication skills with knowledge of modern business communication, including public speaking and presentation skills, as well as effective listening skills
Ability to develop communications and resources to support talent initiatives for broad audiences across the organization
Preferred Experience:
Experience with designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management and development programs and processes covering performance management, talent development, coaching, mentoring, succession planning processes and tools, data analytics and relationship management
Background in Human Resources, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Training and Development or closely related field
Ability to analyze talent metrics to create meaningful insights
Ability to implement strategic plans and programs to create a sustainable, high- performance workforce at all levels across the company
Experience in project management
