As a Senior SRE engineer at Bolt you will entail leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly reliable and scalable systems infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.

<title>Main tasks and responsibilities:</title>

  • <point>Leading the design, implementation, automation, and maintenance of highly reliable and scalable Database systems infrastructure. Planning for future database growth and scalability, ensuring the architecture supports business needs.</point>
  • <point>Participating in on-call activities for the most critical parts of the infrastructure, helping to solve incidents in a no-blaming culture.</point>
  • <point>Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and leading incident response by compiling thorough postmortems, and implementing preventive measures. Identifying performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the system and implementing solutions to optimize database configurations and performance including SQL queries and indexes optimization.</point>
  • <point>Making sure all main services are measured, monitored, and covered by alerting systems.</point>
  • <point>Work closely with engineering teams to design efficient schemas, perform query reviews, and provide guidance on database best practices.</point>
  • <point>Enforce security best practices, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry standards.</point>

<title>About you:</title>

  • <point>You have 5+ years of experience in systems engineering.</point>
  • <point>You are experienced with Relational Database Management Systems (e.g. MySQL), NewSQL and NoSQL Databases are beneficial.</point>
  • <point>You have a good command of Linux troubleshooting, including networking, file systems, security, and the kernel as well as a solid understanding of large-scale distributed systems.</point>
  • <point>You have good coding skills, preferably in Python/Go/Rust/Bash, an experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and with infrastructure automation tools, such as Terraform, and Ansible or alike.</point>
  • <point>You understand the DevOps and Scrum way of working.</point>
  • <point>You are a team player, with a high level of empathy, and good communication skills, that works well with others in the group and the rest of the organization.</point>
