What You'll Get To Do:
Lead Software Engineer will play a critical leadership role in supporting the future growth and execution of CACI’s Tactical SIGINT business. Responsible for defining system architecture standards; oversight of system / HW / SW architecture design, documentation, and evolution. This candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills and must be able to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They should have strong collaboration skills, be able to manage multiple, potentially conflicting, assignments, while ensuring accuracy, adherence to documentation standards, and timely delivery of all work products.
More About the Role:
The Lead Software Engineer provides the vision, strategy, and leadership to drive innovation and new capabilities into CACI’s EW pursuits and programs. They will work closely with program leadership to inform and influence CACI’s market strategy, roadmap and new business pursuits. This executive will be highly visible to internal leadership and is identified as the company’s technical lead with external mission stakeholders. This executive can be chosen to be the program manager of technical programs as pursuits and qualifications may evolve.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes program technical baseline.
Tailors engineering processes to meet SOW requirements and ensures they are captured in CDRLs (SEMP, SDP, HDP, CMP, etc.)
Chairs program Engineering Review Board
Serves as technical lead for ROMB.
Works with Disciplines Leads to identify leads and assign staff.
Works with PM to develop technical organizational structure.
Approves initial technical baseline
Approves changes to technical approach that do not involve cost or schedule
Serve as a catalyst for continuous process improvement to realize development efficiencies, increase quality and accelerate speed to mission.
Coach, educate, and indoctrinate as necessary the development team, the management team, and the mission customer (stakeholders and users) in processes and procedures needed to achieve mission success in concert with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) v2.0 and DoD Standard 2167A (Defense Systems Software Development).
Participate in alternative analysis, planning, definition, high-level and low-level design, integration and formal test of new technologies and their corresponding applications.
Support the creation, publication and presentation of technical briefs, transition briefs, white papers and proposals.
Mentor teams and build skills to strengthen technical capacity across the organization.
Support Engineering Review Boards, Program Management Reviews, system demonstrations, formal test events and other technical interchange meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure the technology roadmap is executed efficiently and effectively by highlighting technical risks, staffing requirements, and other dependencies.
Ensure the use of systems engineering principles in the design, development and delivery of assigned programs.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
B.S. degree in engineering or related field of study required
At least 10 years of relevant experience
Leadership experience on a large-scale, multi-domain integration program (i.e. Program Manager, Chief Technologist, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer or Lead Systems Engineer)
Strong customer and user relations skills as well as experience at technical interchange meetings and representing the organization in technical matters
Experience conducting system architecture, engineering, analytical, and trade study activities using structured techniques in alignment with established Department of Defense standards to include DoDAF
Experience guiding a capability from concept through to a developed/delivered solution
Experience establishing and maintaining working relationship with all levels of the corporate organization
Comfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic work environment
Must possess a current Top Secret/SCI clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Understanding of software defined radio systems including receiver architectures, software channelization, modulation/demodulation techniques, spectral analysis, and/or error-correcting codes.
Experience working large, system of systems design and development to include ACAT-level programs.
Experience establishing and executing an agile software factory to deliver exceptional results to customers
