Overview

The IT Support Specialist provides comprehensive technical support for desktop, laptop, phone, software, and networking systems across the organization. This role ensures reliable day-to-day IT operations while collaborating with internal teams to support Active Directory, servers, access control, and security systems in a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk phones, and related hardware and software
• Deploy, document, test, optimize, and support standardized workstation configurations
• Provide end-user support for business applications, operating systems, and network connectivity issues
• Support Microsoft Windows and Windows Server environments following industry best practices
• Maintain local and offsite backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability
• Administer and support user accounts, permissions, and access within Active Directory
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for workstations, servers, and network equipment
• Install and maintain network-connected devices including printers, scanners, and copiers
• Assist employees in the effective use of software tools and systems to improve productivity
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions aligned with business needs
• Escalate complex hardware or infrastructure issues to vendors or service providers as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and support activities

Must Haves

• A+ Certification or equivalent hands-on technical experience
• Experience supporting and maintaining desktop and workstation environments
• Current experience with Microsoft Windows and Windows Server platforms
• Proven troubleshooting experience in a help desk or support center environment
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a dynamic setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft network infrastructure and domain environments
• Experience supporting backup systems and disaster recovery processes
• Exposure to access control or physical security systems
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering-focused organization
