The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

A role in Investor Relations means supporting ongoing communications with shareholders, equity analysts, internal partners, and other key external stakeholders, helping them to better understand Target’s strategic plans, financial goals and business performance.  The Investor Relations team is responsible for developing relationships and building trust with the financial community, while creating communication materials that highlight Target’s future topline and profit performance, reiterate our unique and differentiated strategy, and provide confidence in Target as a sound investment positioned to deliver sustained, long-term growth.

As a Sr Manager – Investor Relations, you will:

  • Support the quarterly earnings process, including drafting an earnings press release, preparing leaders for live Q&A sessions, assembling other materials as needed to support the earnings process, and helping manage the internal and external review processes of all earnings materials.
  • Research sell-side consensus estimate changes and routinely provide updates to senior leadership.
  • Review and summarize equity analyst research and other media articles.
  • Model Target from an external investor/analyst point of view, to help anticipate questions or areas of focus from the investor community based on historical trends, publicly shared guidance, and other macrotrends in retail.
  • Summarize shareholder activity and ownership changes periodically to senior leadership.
  • Organize store tours and other investor events with field leadership, sell-side analysts, and other parties.
  • Attend conferences with senior leaders of Target while helping to summarize themes and conversations from those events.
  • Draft a bi-weekly newsletter that summarizes news in the IR space for key internal business partners and senior leadership.
  • Respond to investor inquiries to answer questions about Target’s performance and strategy.

About you:

  • Four-year college degree, preferably in finance or business-related area. MBA a plus.
  • 6+ years finance experience and/or business experience
  • Strong analytical aptitude and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, react quickly to change, embrace ambiguity, and show strong executive presence.
  • Strong sense of professional curiosity and self-motivation to learn a complex area and understand the many aspects of how Target runs its business.
  • Ability to build rapport and credible relationships with senior leaders, internal business partners, and many external stakeholders.   Strong executive presence is a must.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
