Job Description Summary

As a Senior Project Manager at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, you will be responsible for comprehensive project management, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction for commercial nuclear projects with Taiwan Power Company (TPC). You will be the primary contact for specific service contracts and lead all aspects of project delivery, including coordination with internal functions, vendors, and customers to scope and execute deliverables. This role is based in Wilmington NC and will require domestic and international travel.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as first line of contact for TPC supporting Technical Needs and Commercial Development.

• Manage technical projects from customer inquiry to project closure.

• Provide leadership and project management for assigned projects.

• Ensure project management practices are followed in accordance with business policies and projects are delivered within schedule and cost constraints.

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and business policies.

• Monitor project performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report progress to stakeholders.

• Negotiate contract terms and manage change orders as needed to address project scope changes or non-standard events.

• Mentor and guide junior project managers, sharing expertise and best practices.

• Develop specialized knowledge in nuclear energy and stay updated on the latest technical developments in the field.

• Use technical expertise for data analysis to support project decisions and recommendations.

• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (equivalent experience/education will be considered, such as Senior Reactor Operator with project management experience).

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear power industry (Only candidates with nuclear experience will be considered).

• Minimum 3 years managing medium- to large-scale projects (with multi-disciplinary team and project).

Eligibility Requirements

• Willingness to travel (~30%) domestically and internationally (Taiwan) to GE Vernova and customer locations.

• Willingness to respond to emergent customer requests during standard and non-standard working hours.

Desired Characteristics

• Senior Reactor Operator experience.

• Experience working in Asia (specifically Taiwan).

• Knowledge of United States nuclear regulatory requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergent customer requests.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, plan, and execute multi-discipline projects under schedule pressure while maintaining timely communication with all stakeholders.

• Self-motivated and capable of planning and executing major initiatives with little supervision.

• Knowledge and experience with engineering and project tools, processes, and software.

• PMP Certification.

• Established project management skills.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. ​

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $132,200.00 and $220,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
