The Bank at Work (BAW) Segment is US P&BB's leading customer acquisition tool/program. There have been pivotal strategic changes to BAW within the last 12 months which has placed BAW at the forefront of US P&BB's retail distribution focus for driving new customer acquisition and growing DDA units to achieve goals.

Given these changes and to grow the performance and profitability of the segment, BAW is seeking a nimble, dynamic, and results-driven program manager that will drive the strategy and execution of initiatives focused on expanding BAW's partnership and inroads with Commercial and Wealth LOBs delivering on BMO's One-Client focus that align to and achieve specific, measurable goals / KPI's.

Detailed job description:

  • Oversees segment performance and sales activity tracking, and work with performance management on a periodic basis to make updates or improvements to the BAW specialty sales team sales portal.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues, break down strategic problems, and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations. Data analytics skills and strong proficiency in being able to tell the story with data to leadership and stakeholders is crucial.
  • Makes recommendations and facilitating changes to the BAW specialty sales team client portfolios working with the performance management team and sales leaders on a periodic basis to implement changes or enhancements. 
  • Manages the strategy and creating and maintaining efficient processes of the BAW data and codes in Salesforce - FSC, that will support and enable both retail and specialty teams with their sales functions.
  • Provides the subject matter expertise in the design, development, management, and implementation of assigned projects from business case development through execution. Work across BMO to deliver specific project/program business results in alignment with overall group goals.
  • Creates innovative business development strategies to grow the business in collaboration with other BMO partners.
  • Contributes to the development of marketing and sales materials for new business opportunities.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
  • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitors and tracks performance,and addresses any issues.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Participates in project / program design to provides advice and subject matter expertise that facilitates achievement of required business results.
  • Conducts analysis required to inform strategic business development recommendations, and considers the “big picture” to assess the advisability of a course of action toward meeting group and enterprise goals.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide business context in the design, development, and implementation of business development programs and solutions.
  • Leads or supports change management activities to coordinate strategic business development initiatives across business / groups and support implementation logistics.
  • Leads or participates in implementation of strategic business development initiatives within the group and across BMO by partnering with various internal and external stakeholders; complexity of initiatives may vary, and usually involve multiple stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Identifies enablers and key issues prior to and during implementation of strategic business development initiatives and raises issues with stakeholders to resolve issues or risks that jeopardize delivery.
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in program management or product management within marketing, operations, or a product-focused LOB role.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable results and delivering successful outcomes in complex initiatives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage end-to-end initiatives while partnering with cross-functional and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and influencing abilities, capable of effectively conveying strategies, plans, and ideas to senior leadership and key stakeholders, and sales teams to secure buy-in and collaboration or adoption.
  • Leadership in project management, ensuring accountability and support across teams and partners.
  • Highly analytical and critical thinker, with a strong problem-solving mindset and a high level of comfort working with data.
  • Strong data analytics skills with experience and strong proficiency in synthesizing data and using data to tell the story.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Experience with building Power BI models or visuals is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in retail banking sales or support is a plus but not required.
  • The role will require working closely with corporate functions such as marketing, performance management, operations, risk, and compliance.
  • The role will require working directly with retail and specialty sales leadership and sales teams.
  • This role will require travel 1-3 times a year to retail branches and Bank at Work client events for learning and observation.
  • Solid understanding of the business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary:

$79,800.00 - $148,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
