Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate studying Master's from an accredited college/university, preferably in the Biomedical / Life Sciences / Pharmacy / Medicine (MBBS) discipline

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English  

Expected Start date: January to June 2025

What will you do?  

We are looking to provide a learning opportunity for an intern in Medical Affairs - Vaccines, collaborating with the cross-functional team to drive optimal health outcomes with innovations in vaccinology/immunology science. This internship also offers general learning from the broader Medical Team across therapy areas and medical functions. The intern will be responsible for supporting the vaccines medical team on the development, implementation, and completion of strategic and tactical medical projects.  

  • Coordination and execution of designated Medical / cross-functional projects to enable successful delivery of project milestones and output, in line with Medical Governance, Compliance, and Pharmacovigilance requirements. This includes use of effective metrics, escalation processes and problem solving 

  • Content development / localization and approvals processes for scientific data exchange 

  • Medical writing 

  • Logistical support for advice-seeking activities and medical scientific meetings 

  • Administrative support for cross-functional team meeting: engaging cross-functional stakeholders, consolidating content, keeping minutes and follow-up of actions 

What will you learn? 

  • High-level appreciation of the Medical Affairs organisation and function, as well as its processes, requirements, and activities 

  • Understanding of medicine development from early-stage development and throughout the peri-launch and overall product lifecycle 

  • Experience in project management 

  • Experience in interdisciplinary work and cross-functional collaboration across departments in a business context and strengthening business acumen 

  • Appreciation of critical appraisal of scientific / clinical data and development of medical writing skills 

 

What are we looking for?  

We are looking for someone with the following: 

  •  Educational background – studying Biomedical or Life Sciences or related degree (undergraduates with one year remaining to graduation when starting role) 

  • Ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work in teams, and focus on proactively delivering assigned work 

  • Strong drive for performance and attention to details 

  • Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams 

  • Strong written and oral communications skills  

  • Proficient in use of IT and software/systems
