We have an excellent opportunity for a results-driven, continuous-improvement-focused Operations Associate Director to join the Leadership Team at HS Marston in Wolverhampton, UK.  This role is ideally suited to an experienced leader with a strong manufacturing background and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

Role Overview:

  • In this role, you will lead, mentor, coach, and develop the Operations Management Team while fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.

  • You will have full responsibility for the Operations function, including Operational Excellence, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Logistics. 

  • You will lead an operations management team and approximately 150 indirect reports, delivering over $200M in annual sales and executing the site’s Operations strategy. 

What you will do:

  • As a member of the site Leadership Team, contribute to building and sustaining a high-performance culture aligned with Collins Aerospace vision, values, and behaviours 

  • Create, align, and execute operational strategies that enable business success and long-term growth 

  • Lead the Operations team to achieve outstanding delivery, quality, and cost performance, while building functional capability and accountability 

  • Evolve operational capabilities to meet current and future customer requirements and enable new commercial opportunities 

  • Serve as the primary senior interface with key supporting functions including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and HR 

  • Manage operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure resources are effectively deployed within agreed financial parameters 

  • Mentor, coach, and develop leaders across the Operations organisation to build a strong and sustainable management team 

Skills / Experience we value:

  • Strong results orientation with the ability to evaluate, prioritise, and act upon core business targets including Quality, Cost, and Delivery 

  • Customer-focused leader with broad experience managing complex production activities, particularly assembly, fabrication, and machining, across multiple customer and supplier interfaces 

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, and support teams to achieve operational and business objectives 

  • Solid understanding of structured problem-solving techniques and their application in resolving production and quality issues 

  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and applied continuous improvement practices, with a passion for improving operational performance 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation 

  • Experience gained within Operations / Manufacturing environment with demonstrated knowledge of automation and welding proceses.
