Role Description
Executive summary of the role.
The Professional Education Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering professional education for clinical stakeholders (orthopaedic surgeons, residents, OR staff, and allied healthcare professionals) to support safe adoption and optimal use of orthopaedic solutions. The role ensures each education activity is clinically relevant, operationally flawless, and executed in line with internal governance and external compliance standards in a regulated MedTech environment.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical/Clinical Affairs, Regulatory/Compliance, Finance, and Operations, the role translates educational needs into structured programs (e.g., cadaver labs, skills workshops, in-theatre support pathways, symposia, and digital learning). Success is measured by education quality and participant experience, strong stakeholder engagement, compliant documentation, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent events with clear follow-up and continuous improvement.
Main areas of responsibility / expected results/objectives of the role
Owns the end-to-end coordination of the local professional education plan (needs assessment, annual calendar, capacity planning, and prioritization) in alignment with business strategy and clinical adoption goals.
Plans and delivers education events for orthopaedic clinical stakeholders (e.g., procedure-based workshops, cadaver/skills labs, symposia, webinars), ensuring high-quality agendas, appropriate faculty, and clear learning objectives.
Coordinates all event logistics (venues, cadaver lab providers as applicable, equipment/instrumentation, product availability, travel, catering, and on-site execution) while maintaining operational checklists and contingency plans.
Manages speaker/faculty engagement (identification with internal owners, invitations, contracting support as applicable, briefing packs, and on-site coordination) and ensures alignment to approved content and messaging.
Ensures education materials and program elements follow internal review and approval processes (Medical/Legal/Compliance), including version control, attendee documentation, and audit-ready record keeping.
Tracks education KPIs and outcomes (attendance, satisfaction, learning feedback, follow-up actions) and provides concise reporting to internal stakeholders to inform planning and continuous improvement.
Partners with Sales and Clinical/Medical teams to support customer training pathways (site-based education, new user onboarding, and follow-up sessions) aligned with customer needs and local policies.
Manages vendors and purchasing processes related to professional education (PO/invoice coordination, supplier onboarding support, cost tracking) in line with budget and finance procedures.
Builds and maintains education playbooks, templates, and standardized ways of working to improve consistency, efficiency, and participant experience across all orthopaedic education activities.

Qualifications
Required:
Experience coordinating professional education, clinical training, events, or comparable customer-facing programs in healthcare or MedTech.
Strong project and event management skills, with ability to run multiple workstreams end-to-end and deliver flawless execution.
Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, matrixed environments and align stakeholders on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Strong communication skills with confidence interacting with clinical audiences (surgeons, residents, OR teams) and internal subject-matter experts.
High attention to detail and comfort working within governed processes (approvals, documentation, transparency/disclosure, and audit readiness).
Strong organizational skills and service mindset; able to anticipate needs, solve problems quickly, and maintain calm under time pressure.
Fluency in Dutch, French, and English (written and spoken).
Demonstrates high integrity and professionalism in all interactions with healthcare professionals and suppliers.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in life sciences, healthcare management, marketing, education, or a related field.
Experience in orthopaedics and/or surgical environment (OR workflows, instrumentation, sterile field considerations) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with adult learning principles and education design (learning objectives, assessment, participant feedback loops).
Experience delivering hybrid/digital education (webinars, learning platforms, digital assets) and managing related vendors/tools.
Experience with compliance frameworks for HCP engagements (e.g., internal policies, industry codes) and working with Medical/Legal review processes.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
€52,000.00 - €82,685.00
