Job Description Summary
This at-will position will be responsible for creating a friendly and welcoming environment while being the first point of contact for guests and their pets. This role will manage scheduling while performing a multitude of tasks such as, feeding, playing, and cleaning of clients’ dogs as needed. This position will assist in monitoring dogs within the daycare facilities and maintain a safe and sanitary environment.

Functions
 

Client Services & Front Desk Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression.

  • Check pets in and out for boarding, daycare, and grooming services, verifying accurate intake notes, feeding instructions, medications, and belongings.

  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a prompt, helpful, and courteous manner.

  • Provide detailed information regarding facility services, pricing, policies, and availability.

  • Schedule and confirm appointments for boarding, daycare, and grooming, coordinating efficiently with internal staff.

  • Address client concerns, special requests, and questions professionally and with empathy.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pet profiles, vaccination records, and contact information.

  • Process payments securely and accurately using cash, card, or digital payment systems.

  • Keep the front desk and lobby area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.

Kennel & Animal Care Support

  • Clean and sanitize kennels, common areas, play yards, and feeding stations to ensure a safe, healthy environment.

  • Monitor and provide dogs with scheduled feeding, hydration, and medication needs as instructed.

  • Oversee daily enrichment activities, including walks, playtime, and socialization appropriate to each dog’s temperament.

  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all animals under care by observing behavior, noting changes, and reporting concerns.

  • Interact with pet parents in a professional and compassionate manner during pick-up, drop-off, or while assisting kennel tours.

  • Support team communication by relaying relevant pet care notes to staff and updating records in real time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous receptionist or customer service experience is preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

  • Basic computer skills, including experience with scheduling software and payment systems.

  • Safe Pet Handling Skills Experience
