Job Details:

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member with a focus in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track position.


 

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is in a progressive and innovative College that emphasizes evidence-based and integrative approaches to health and collaboration with the other programs in the College (Physical Therapy, Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Athletic Training, and Kinesiology).

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include graduate student classroom and laboratory instruction and evaluation; advisement and mentoring of students; facilitate small group instruction; committee involvement; admissions activities; professional organization engagement; and scholarly activities to include grants, publications, and presentations.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Qualifications:

A graduate of an accredited master’s degree physician assistant program with a current NCCPA certification and eligibility for physician assistant licensure in Georgia, or a graduate of an accredited medical school with current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Georgia and certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board. Clinical experience as a practicing PA, DO, or MD required. Prior teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity preferred.  Rank commensurate with academic experience.
