The Compliance Anti Money Laundering Risk Management Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for recommending/ establishing internal procedures to prevent money laundering and assist in all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team. The overall objective is to utilize established disciplinary knowledge to identify inconsistencies in data or result and formulate strategic recommendations on policies, procedures, and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, vet and address potential risks or escalated issues with the assistance of functional partners and key stakeholders
- Communicate with internal entities to incorporate findings of the AML control program
- Utilize information from regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas
- Analyze comparative data, prepare and present reports related to AML risk assessments, and monitor AML related issues and escalations
- Create and develop AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) standards and policies
- Synthesize/analyze risk information and advise/recommend on a plan of action
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Preparing and presenting items to the quarterly oversight working group and submitting to the Global AML Regulatory Reporting Program Office;
- Collecting and consolidating the following items from applicable countries’ Country Regulatory Reporting Contacts:
- Metrics;
- Changes to local law procedure elements and change management Including potential impact to regulatory report filings when changes are regulatory driven
- Results of Country Regulatory Reporting Contact assessments and validations, as applicable.
- Escalating regulatory reporting matters of concern to the Global AML Regulatory Reporting Program Office; and
- Verifying countries that do not have a local regulatory reporting-related requirement continue to remain out of scope. In the event an out-of-scope country’s regulatory obligation changes to include tracking and/or reporting, the Regional Regulatory Reporting Contact must assist the country to identify a Country Regulatory Reporting Contact and provide guidance for the country’s related regulatory reporting process(es). In addition, the Region Regulatory Reporting Contact must inform the Global AML Regulatory Reporting Program Office of the new country requirement and of the Country Regulatory Reporting Contact.
- Consults with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate activities to meet Regulatory Report goals.
- Exhibits good understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical area and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas and applies good understanding of concepts and procedures to resolve issues.
- Acquires and provides subject matter expertise to ensure efficient design, development, and implementation on AML transformation projects.
- Supports in countries AML Team in AML Regulatory Reporting matters.
- Evaluates & Support system/procedure change process from requirements through implementation.
- Issue Management- Evaluation of open issues and track to closure
- Exam Management- Track all ongoing exams and assess the outcome to evaluate any impact to AML regulatory reporting
- Country AML regulatory reporting Procedure Assessment
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and regulations preferred
- Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- English level: Advance
- 2-5 years of experience related to AML, Governance, and reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office (High Excel)
- Able to write Business Requirements with strong details
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to quickly take on new tasks and complete it within deadline
- Strong follow-up skills; demonstrated accountability for role and responsibilities
- Able to handle highly sensitive and confidential data with utmost discretion
- Candidate must be a supportive team player who will eagerly dive into tasks as requested from across the department
